Do you know that if you take your trip to Jamaica at certain time of the year, you can save money on airfare prices and hotel rates? Taking your vacation at this time of the year between November to December 15 will leave you with some cash in your pocket and you can enjoy the same activities as you would in the peak season. There are different seasons that the hotels in Jamaica goes by and they are Peak or (High Season) and Low Season. Peak Season is the time of the year when the hotels rates are high and the Low Season is when the hotel rates are much lower and there are more rooms available, because people usually travels less at this time of the year. This is also a good time to take your trip to Jamaica because the weather is much cooler.
Peak Season (High Season)
Peak Season is effective from about December 15 to about the April 20th. The airfares and hotels rates will be high priced. When it’s peak season and people from all over the world is traveling, airports will be packed with long wait time and more cancelled flights. Hotels, beaches, entrainment places and everything tourist may want to do, will be crowded. It’s also a time for Spring breakers and families visiting relatives in Jamaica. When it’s winter in other countries, people are seeking warmer places for their vacation.
Low Season (for the hotels but high airfares)
People may be able to get some deals from May to October on hotels rates in Jamaica, but airfares will be high. For me it’s not the ideal time, not only on the airfare but also the weather may not be so great. May to October are some of the hottest month and it may also be in the height of the hurricane season. If you don’t have a lot of money for your traveling, then it’s best to travel at a later time in the year, where you can get both cheaper airfare and hotel rates.
Best Time To Travel
Best time is when the hotels rates are lower, airfares are lower and the weather is just beautiful. The hotels has seasonal rates, so to get the best deals, you should take your trip between November -December 15th. This is the time of the year when airfares and hotels rates are more manageable, better weather and places less crowded.
How To Find Cheaper Airline Ticket
Always start searching for your airline ticket 5 months before you decide to travel. When traveling to the island, the best time to purchase your ticket is between 3-4 months ahead. Since Jamaica is a popular tourist destination, the airlines are booked up easily because of the amount of people that is going on vacation. Start searching for the lower prices as often as you can. I find from experience, that my cheapest price is when I search between Tuesdays to Thursdays. Searching for cheaper price on a weekend is not the best. Last minute won’t work unless it’s emergency, but as long as you have the time, book your ticket within the 3-4 months time before travel. Even thought you buy your tickets early, the price should be effective the month you’re traveling. I also find out that if there is an early morning flight, you may pay cheaper on that flight, if you are trying to save money. It’s also better to travel early as the airports are not that crowded and there are less delays.
Is It Wise To Do An Airline And Hotel Package?
My answer is no and yes! I will explain this because there are pros and cons in booking a travel package. There are benefits in this, if you are aware of the best time to travel and also the difference between the hotel rates and the airlines prices at certain time of the year. If I have limited amount of funds, then I don’t want a travel package between December 15th-April 20th because the airfares prices are high and the hotels rates are high. It may be a little better to purchase a travel package in May to October because the hotels rates may be cheaper but the airlines prices could get high. Purchasing a travel package is still possible and you could get a great deal, but that has to be done when the airlines prices and hotels rates are balanced and that’s between November-December 15. At this time of the year the hotels rates are cheaper and the airline fares are cheaper, so then, this is the time I would purchase my travel package for better savings.
